Bruce Himelstein has been appointed President of Oceania Cruises , succeeding Bob Binder , who has been promoted to Vice Chairman and President of Prestige Cruise Holdings . Himelstein was most recently Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Kerzner International . He is also a former Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Ritz-Carlton .
David Bowd has moved to Hotels AB as Chief Operating Officer. He was most recently serving as Managing Director for the Ian Schrager Company . He had previously held executive level positions with Amsterdam Hospitality and Morgans Hotel Group .
Marco Selva has been appointed General Manager of the St. Regis Bal Harbour , opening early 2012. He had previously been with Ritz-Carlton for over ten years in various positions including opening General Manager for the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove , General Manager for the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne and Regional Vice President, & Area Vice President in the Florida Regional Office.
Abdullah Vural has come on as the permanent General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch after joining last September as Interim General Manager and Corporate Vice President of Operations, Americas. In the past, he had served as Interim General Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay and the Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain .
Rob Cote has been named Vice President of Operations for Interstate Hotels & Resorts . He was most recently the Regional Director of Operations at Alliance Hospitality and a former General Manager at aloft Chapel Hill .
Martein van Wagenberg has joined Las Ventanas al Paraiso as General Manager.

The Villas at Punta Ballena and Esperanza are located in the area that is referred to as “The Corridor”, an 18 mile highway that connects the two cities – Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, Baja California Sur, Mexico. Los Cabos means: the two caves. If you are a luxury traveler, you will more than likely be vacationing on The Corridor, nearly all of the luxury properties located in Cabo San Lucas are located on The Corridor.

If one should opt to have a private chef prepare their breakfast each morning (private chefs are provided at an additional fee), a time is arranged in advance, and each morning your private chef arrives at your Villa and prepares your breakfast. I chose to have my breakfast at my Palapa each morning overlooking the ocean. Fresh fruit, french toast, tostadas, huevos rancheros, refried beans, fresh juices, coffee and tea can be expected for breakfast.
The Fresh Fruit Tastes as Good as it Looks
The Villas are similar to luxury homes, with a pool and a patio in the back, and an outdoor fireplace in the front courtyard. Each Villa has a golf cart parked in the two car garage that is available for the residents. The neighborhood is lavish with beautiful, tropical trees, flora and fauna. Each private Villa is estimated to be valued around $3 million USD. Punta Ballena has a gym that overlooks the ocean, beach club with a swimming pool and a convenient restaurant poolside.

Hands down, it was the 1.8 Kilometer nature walk along the cacti. One of the grounds keepers informed me of this narrow path that that went along one end of the property. The path is used by many of the guests for exercise in the mornings. There were many types of cacti, and along the path there are a few places to sit and rest or take photos. One cannot be afraid of lizards or iguanas as you will see them along the way. I was quite amused by the woodpeckers that pecked away at the cacti. It was a relaxing way to enjoy the property and get some natural exercise.
