A fairy party for the little ones

It’s another event for the children. This time, K and E Party Time Entertainment and Rentals have planned a Fun Fair Show under the theme, “Adventures of the Lost Treasures,” for this weekend.

Featuring characters like Tinker Bell, Peter Pan and Captain Hook, the show is slated for The Botanical Gardens this Sunday.

“The public can look forward to seeing the Botanical Gardens transformed to Neverland on June 19, where you will find pixies, indians and pirates who will be face-painting, twisting balloons and playing magical games,” Party host Kerry Pell of K and E Entertainment and Rentals said.

“There will be fairies and pirates dancing the maypole, fairy ballerinas, and many more performances.”

He added that to show appreciation to persons who kept with the theme by coming out in their Neverland costumes, prizes would be awarded for the best costumes. Prizes include a day-pass for four to a resort, perfumes, gift certificates, party package, dinner for four and a costume of their choice and more.

“These events were created for the little ones in mind, particularly the little ones who do not get the opportunity to attend birthday parties or other events where we do similar types of entertainment,” he said.

Admission for adults is $15 and children $10.

Living in Nayarit: The little ones I leave behind...

I became an aunt at the age of 8 and was an aunt to 4 by the age of 16.  I will never forget the time wita (my mom) and mom (my sister) took off from the house and left me with all four kids ages 7, 4, 18 mo. and 3 mo.  I don't remember what they left for but it was suppose to be only for a minute and it felt more like an hour.  Somehow I managed to watch them without any major disasters. As many of you already know, June is the month of graduation from kindergarten, middle school, high school and even college. This year my family and I attended my nephew Angel's (Chito) graduation from high school and we were all very happy; especially because the family endured many difficult times these past couple of years. All of this good work deserves a fiesta and so on Saturday the 18th we will be celebrating Chito's graduation.  On the following day at 1400 hours he will be shipped out to Marine boot camp down in San Diego.  We wish him all of the best and know he will be just fine, but to even think of it now brings tears to my eyes as we are all a little emotional that he will be going away.  July 13th is his 18th birthday and he will be spending it in boot camp.  I hope to send out thank you notes to all who attend our little celebration on Saturday and ask if they can take a moment of their time to send him a birthday card or note.  I hear that those in boot camp really look forward to mail call as they are not permitted to phone home or see their family for 3 months.

So many changes over the years, little ones grow and then move on to become a Marine and protect your country. I'm sure that they know you will be there for them. Time is getting close for you to change your path along the road of life, time for you to start thinking of the major changes coming very very soon in your life. Trinidad, are you aware of the changes to driving a vehicle into Mexico, new laws June 6th or so. You now have to leave a deposit of over $200.00 when you go in (KM 21) and get it refunded on your return to the USA. I will try and do a post on this soon.
