Driver accused of ramming his SUV into motorcyclist
A 49-year-old Aurora man, accused of running his SUV into a motorcyclist after an argument, faces felony charges, the Kane County sheriff’s office said Wednesday.
Alfredo Escamilla, of the 700 block of Aurora Avenue, was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery in a public place, criminal damage to property, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and criminal damage to property after an incident at 8:13 p.m. Monday near Prairie Street and Elmwood Drive, the Kane County state’s attorney’s office said.
According to prosecutors, Escamilla got into an argument with a man on a motorcycle. Escamilla then intentionally rammed his car into the motorcycle, which was stopped at a stop sign, prosecutors said. The rider was tossed from the bike, prosecutors said.
The victim was treated at a medical facility and released, but witnesses were able to help police track down Escamilla.

An air conditioner condenser, worth $1,000, was stolen from the 900 block of Aurora Avenue between 10 p.m. Monday and 2 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
Patrick Olsen and Sheryl Teeters were taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center after a two-car crash at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday near 75th Street and Meadowridge Drive, police said. No condition reports were available. The other driver, Jacob Patrey was charged with failure to yield, police said. Aurora police refused to release the age or address of anyone involved.
Luis Chora, 40, 400 block of North Farnsworth Avenue, Aurora, was charged with drunken driving, suspended license, improper lane use, disregarding a stop sign and illegal transportation of liquor at 1:32 a.m. Monday near Lincoln Avenue and Clark Street, police said.

No one was injured when a electrical main caught fire Wednesday afternoon at a home on Route 34 between Mitchell Road and Waubonsee Drive in Plano. The homeowner said she smelled smoke, evacuated the home, and put out the small fire with a garden hose. The fire was reported around 12:40 p.m. at 12875 Route 34.
MONTGOMERY
Yvette Gutierrez, 33, 2400 block of Mayfield Drive, Montgomery, was charged with drunken driving, failure to reduce speed and no insurance after she hit a parked car in the 2400 block of Mayfield Drive at 4 a.m. Friday, police said.
