I removed and disassembled the service station in my hp 990cxi printer. I scraped and soaked the parts to remove the ink. Following cleaning, I reassembled the service station. I noticed there were two parts left over. I have not been able to determine where they go. The two parts appear to be identical. They are white, soft plastic or rubber. They are 7/8"L x 19/32"W x 1/8"T. On one surface they have a small slot, in the center approx. 1/16"W x 5/32"L x 1/16"D. There are two rectangular depressions on opposite corners. On the other surface there are two small protrusions on opposite ends apparently used to hold the parts in position. I couldn't find any matching holes in the service station or anywhere else in the printer. The exploded diagrams I have of the service station do not show these parts. I assume they came from the service station but I am not certain of this. I would appreciate any help anyone can provide. I don't want to leave them out and find out later that they should have been installed.


Thank you very much, sue o. They fit fine. Not much holding them in place but I suppose they will stay in place. I assume that the slots face upward against the sled and line up with the holes in the top of the sled. That's the way I put them in.

Do you know what position the sled should be in prior to reinstalling the service station motor? When I removed the motor the sled did not appear to be retracted all the way. I did not measure it at the time. Wish I did.
